LG Optimus G photo and specifications revealed

LG Optimus G is still one of the most powerful smartphones on the market, but the rumors of its successor are already at full swing. The image and the specifications of the international version of the LG Optimus G Pro have been leaked and the smartphone is rumored to be launched at the upcoming Mobile World Congress.

  

The upgraded version of Optimus G is rumored to come out with a 5.5" full HD IPS-LCD display and will be powered by a 1.7 GHz quad-core Snapdragon processor with 2 GB RAM, 13-megapixel rear camera, 2-megapixel front camera, Android 4.1 Jelly Bean and LTE radio built in.

LG Optimus G Pro will also feature 32 GB internal memory and will support microSD cards up to 64 GB. The device will be powered by a huge 3,140mAh battery, which sounds quite impressive.

LG will be aiming to attract a larger consumer base with its powerful Optimus G Pro in a market, which will be occupied by the likes of Samsung Galaxy S IV, HTC M7 and Sony Xperia Z.

Ubuntu equipped smartphones will arrive in October

Smartphones specifically designed and built to run the Ubuntu mobile operating system are going to start shipping in October this year.

The information comes from Canonical CEO and founder Mark Shuttleworth. He added that Ubuntu for smartphones will also hit a couple of "large geographic markets". Although he didn't specify them, he told WSJ that "North America is absolutely a key market for Ubuntu.".

Additionally, according to Mr. Shuttleworth, Ubuntu has got the necessary attention from multiple carriers, which are going to back the newborn mobile OS at its launch. However, which ones exactly remains a mystery.

App developers and Ubuntu enthusiasts will have access to the Linux-driven OS as early as the end of this month when Canonical is going to release a special ROM for the Galaxy Nexus.

BlackBerry Z10 sold better than any other BlackBerry in the UK

The BlackBerry Z10  launched in the UK at the end of January, a day after its official announcement. And it sold better than any other BlackBerry in the UK, ever.

Here’s what CEO Thorsten Heins had to say about the UK launch: "In the UK, we have seen close to three times our best performance ever for the first week of sales for a BlackBerry smartphone."

The Z10 launch in Canada, BlackBerry’s home turf, came several days later – February 5 – and it was another record. "In Canada, [Tuesday] was the best day ever for the first day of a launch of a new BlackBerry smartphone. In fact, it was more than 50 percent better than any other launch day in our history in Canada," says Heins.

That’s great but the CEO didn’t announce any concrete numbers, so while the BlackBerry Z10 launch was record-breaking by BlackBerry standards, we don’t know how it compares to launches of competing devices.

The company will be releasing information on its quarterly performance at the end of March, which should give us some more concrete numbers. The second BlackBerry 10 phone, the Q10 is expected in April. It has a hardware QWERTY, so it’d be interesting to see how it does against the touchscreen-only Z10.

HTC M7 will be launched on March 8

we are afraid that HTC will have little to announce at its February 19 event. Today we got to learn the pricing and release date of the smartphone (or at least in France), courtesy of a listing from a local retailer.

According to the leak, the HTC M7 will be launched on March 8, and it will be using that exact name. This refutes earlier rumors that M7 was merely a codename, which won't be used any more once the smartphone gets official.

The SIM-free HTC M7 will be priced at a whopping €649.99(about $879) and is expected to be available in different colors.

The listing also confirms the specifications of HTC M7 to sport a 4.7" Full HD display, 1.7 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon quad-core processor along with 2GB RAM, 32 GB internal memory with microSD support, 4G, NFC, Android Jelly Bean and 2,300 mAh battery

Furthermore, HTC M7 will be using a 13-megapixel camera with stacked sensor and ultrapixels for the first time and it will be interesting to see how the camera performs. M7 is also confirmed to feature the latest HTC 5.0 sense and Double HP techno Beats Audio.

Pink Samsung Galaxy Note II relaesed on samsung website

We have seen pink colored versions of Samsung's smartphones before. There was the pink Galaxy S III and then the pink Galaxy Note before that. Now it's the turn of the new Galaxy Note II to go pink.

The entire front and back of the phone gets the new shade of pink, which is lighter than the one we saw on the original Note. The stylus also gets the new color treatment. Other than that the phone is identical to the other color models.

Samsung is yet to announce the phone and so far it exists only on the company's Taiwanese website. More details regarding availability should be released soon.

Samsung Galaxy S IV will launch on March 15

Samsung's next generation Galaxy S flagship smartphone will be launched on March 15, according to a "trusted" insider, who has confirmed the arrival to SamMobile. Earlier, an internal raffle doc leak at a New Zealand retailer had suggested that the device might be available from April, but we can now expect the smartphone to hit the stores from the beginning of April.

We already know Samsung's Unpacked event won't happen at the MWC, but the company is expected to send the invites after the conclusion of the industry's largest event.

Samsung's 2013 flagship smartphone is rumored to sport a Super AMOLED display of FullHD resolution and a whopping 8-core Exynos 5 Octa processor, 8-core Mali-T658 GPUand 2 GB of RAM. A 13-megapixel rear camera with the ability to shoot 1080p full HD videos at 30 fps will be mounted at the back, while 2-megapixel front camera will take care of video-calls. The next Samsung flagship will reportedly be powered by Android 4.2.1 Jelly Bean.

It the rumors are to be trusted, the smartphone will be available in Europe first, with the whole Asian market is expected to follow by the end of April. Galaxy IV will make it to the shores of America, Australia and Africa by the end of Q2.

The report also confirms the model number of Galaxy S IV to be I9500 as well as its Black and White color options.
